Curt Warner has been wrenching bikes since 1979. Even before that he got his start in the driveway by taking apart his Schwinn Apple Krate, then putting it back together—just for the fun of it.

Since then, he’s learned a lot about bicycles, and he will be the first to tell you he is still learning. It is his lifelong pursuit and passion. In 1994 he started a mobile repair service in Chicago. Six years later he began a mobile operation in Oak Park.

In 2007 he incorporated Bikefix and set up shop at its current location at 252 Lake Street in Oak Park, Illinois. His mission is singular: To provide the most professional level of service to bicycle riders of all types as he possibly can. “I want every rider, whether they are a commuter, racer, enthusiast, or a new mother who wants to pull her child in a trailer, to feel comfortable and confident that they will receive the highest level of professionalism possible.”

Curt has been featured in Crain’s Small Business and the Oak Park Wednesday Journal. Robin Baumgarten of the WGN Channel 9 News featured Curt’s service in her “On the Road with Robin” feature, and most recently, Bikefix was featured on Fox 32 News in a segment reported by anchor Byron Harlan.

In 2008, Curt’s wife, Kathyrn Hempel, edited, co-wrote, and collaborated on the year’s most important feature length cycling film, Masterlink Film’s Road to Roubaix.

And Lizzy, a post Katrina rescued pup from Mississippi, keeps an eye on things while Curt is engrossed in his work.
